The Super-Kamiokande upgrade work in the bottom region of the tank was completed in the middle of October. Starting October 13th we began to fill the detector with water. During the remainder of 2018 we will continue to fill the SK detector with ultrapure water, circulating and further cleaning the water as it fills.

In early November, the water level reached about 15 meters, roughly 1/3 of the final level. Partial data taking was started on November 7. We will take data intermittently during the remaining water filling. In January 2019, we will restart observation with the detector completely full of water.
