The Giuseppe and Vanna Cocconi Prize for Particle Astrophysics and Cosmology is awarded to Prof. Yoichiro Suzuki

The Giuseppe and Vanna Cocconi Prize 2013 has been awarded to Prof. Yoichiro Suzuki, the director of Kamioka Observatory and Prof. Art McDonald for their outstanding contribution to the solution of the solar neutrino puzzle in the Super-Kamiokande and SNO experiments

 

The Giuseppe and Vanna Cocconi Prize has been awarded every two years since 2011 by the High Energy and Particle Physics Division of European Physical Society. The prize will be awarded for those who have made outstanding contributions (experimental or theoretical) to Particle Astrophysics and Cosmology in the last fifteen years.

 

Prof. Yoichiro Suzuk is the first Japanese physicist to receive this honor.
