New data acquisition system was installed in Super-Kamiokande

06/Sep./2008

Super-Kamiokande has continued data taking for about ten years adding some improvement since we started observation in 1996.

The data collection system was completely changed for further detector performance and the stability observation. We developed the new system with hot technology which the signal is taken from the photo-multiplier tubes (PMTs) and the data is processed.

Super-Kamiokande equipped a new data collection system continues the research of neutrinos and proton decay such as T2K experiment which is a long baseline neutrino oscillation experiment starting in April, 2009.
