A high intensity proton accelerator (J-PARC) is being constructed at Tokai (295km away from Kamioka). Precise study of neutrino oscillation using the high intensity neutrino beam produced at J-PARC is expected to start in April 2009.
The number of neutrino events expected at Super-Kamiokande is 50 times more than that of K2K and additional neutrino oscillation mode can be investigated. Neutrino research will be lead to resolve the mystery of the universe.
Moreover, the observation of asymmetry between matter and anti-matter on neutrino is possible and this help for understanding the origin of matter.
